Week 5

Tena Koutou Katoa,

Here's the heads up for what to expect in Week 5:
  • Please bring homework books back on Monday. Even if you don't participate in home learning, getting the books set up and spelling tested is still part of the class programme.
  • Togs: daily please. We'll be heading to the High School pool for another session on Friday. I was super impressed with everyone the Friday just been. All the students who came got in the pool and had a go. I saw some excellent swimming and some amazing bravery.
We're in the process of making some signs for the school garden. These will include information such as the regular name and scientific name for each child's chosen plant. This is also linked in with Technology as we're planning and developing our signs over multiple sessions. Here are some photos of the students doing a sketch of their chosen plant to help them plan their sign. Cheers Sol for contributing your expertise and enthusiasm!

Rock On,
Mr M

Week 4

Kia Ora All,

We're at week 4 already! Camp is just around the corner. I'm still waiting on a few camp forms to come back so please do that ASAP.

For Home Learning this week I've asked the students to work on their mihi. This is glued in their Homework book along with their spelling words for the week. It is absolutely fine to change the river and mountain to something more appropriate for your child if you wish as well as adding other details such as iwi if known. I've endeavoured to make sure the copy the students practice from at school matches the information sent through from home.
To help out with pronunciation, here is a quick video of me reciting the mihi at a slow pace. Kia manawa titi!

Rock On,
Mr M
