Garden Signs and BTB Points Auction

 Kia Ora Koutou Katoa,

A little technology project we had on the go this term was making some signs for the school garden. This was done in conjunction with Sol. We also could not have completed the project without Malcolm's patient help and handyman skills. The signs took a good part of the term to complete; we worked in small bursts over several sessions. First the kids identified the perennial that they wanted to label, then they researched its scientific name, did some observational drawings, made a mock up of their layout, primed the plywood board, and finally transferred their design onto the sign. Once the signs were finished, the kids drilled holes in them to attach a rope, which they platted out of flax, to the sign. We then proudly hung them in the garden. Pop by the school garden if you get a chance and check them out.

BTB Points Auction
Every term I run a BTB points auction. Over the term the students build up a bank of BTB points awarded for good behaviour, outstanding manners, great sportsmanship, excellent work habits and superb effort in their learning. At the end of the term the students use their points to bid for items which have been donated to the auction.

This is the call for donations of any small items that are no longer wanted for the students to bid on. In the past students have brought in old toys, stationary, books or other random items - any small inexpensive items you could send along will contribute to the fun of the auction. Please send along with your child by Tuesday.

Rock on,

Mr M
