Week Six Update

Kia Ora All,

It's getting pretty busy in Room 2. Here's a heads up about some things you need to know:
  • Friday is Daffodil Day. Your child will have picked a stall they want to do. Any cooking etc will need to be done prior to the day and items brought in e.g., lemonade or cakes. Let me know if you have any questions.
  • Room 2 is taking care of the veggie fritters. If you are able to donate vegetables such as onions, carrots, zucchini, eggs or other fritterable produce please drop them into Room 2 before Friday. Donations of food greatly appreciated!
  • I'm on the lookout for 2 litre Coke bottles or similar. Please send any you have at home along to school with your child.
  • Over the next few weeks we'll be working on a couple of technology projects involving simple electrical circuits e.g., a quiz with a lightbulb to let you know you have the right answer. If each child were able to bring 2 AA sized batteries along to school it would be much appreciated.
  • Below are some photos of the students following the design process to create leaf identification quizzes. We started by identifying some leaves in the forrest next to the school. Then we made a functional model of our quiz so that the students knew the leaves, lights and headings would fit on the page. After that we actually constructed our quizzes and learnt about simple circuits along the way.
