Last week Room 2 and Room 5 joined forces to do some writing. Tuakana Teina is the principle of older kids helping the younger kids learn. It was fantastic to see the Room 2 students working with the Room 5 students to create poems using sensory description. There was a bunch of fantastic learning going on, the kids were all super engaged and they enjoyed reading parts of their poems aloud at the end of the session. I think both classes were impressed with the standard of each others' writing. A fantastic morning of writing was had by all.
